What is an "Alerter" used for?
11/10/2018

Those that are used to using conditional formatting in excel will find that an Alerter is the Business Objects equivalent. Conditional formatting allows the user to alter the display of a cell based on its value.

for example:

If cell value = Yes then colour text green

Alerters are a good way of drawing the attention to the consumer to a particular element or value – for example : overdue payment dates may be coloured RED

Alerters are also a great way of adding context or focus to a set of information – for example : a simple traffic light system so that the a state of an indicator can easily be identified.

if Value LESS THAN 0 then RED

if Value EQUAL TO  0 then AMBER

if Value GREATER THAN  0 then GREEN
